Did you know that the majority of security breaches are typically the result of human error? Join Michael Mercer, OIT’s Information Security Office Program Manager, for this virtual event to learn how you can better protect yourself and stay safe online. Learn about phishing, which remains one of the primary causes of data breaches and malware infections, and how you can successfully identify and report phishing attempts. Ensure that you are in control of your personal information online, including social media, email, application downloads and updates, GPS tracking, and cloud storage of personal data. You will leave the session with a better understanding of the important role that you play in securing yourself online.

Michael Mercer

Cybersecurity Program Manager, Information Security Office, OIT

Michael is responsible for ensuring state government entities are provided cybersecurity resources to help protect Coloradans’ information from compromise. Prior to joining OIT, Michael was the Chief Security Officer for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Denver Field Office, which included nine Resident Agency Offices located throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
