Gov. Polis congratulates Colorado’s Girls Go CyberStart National Championship participants

DENVER - Today, Gov. Jared Polis congratulated Colorado high school students who participated in the 2020 Girls Go CyberStart competition and National Championship. The CyberStart game, which teaches students about cybersecurity through a series of online challenges, ran from January 13 to June 30, 2020. 

In his video message to participants, Governor Polis exclaimed, “We are so proud of ALL the Colorado teams and students who participated in the Girls Go CyberStart challenge, and would like to give a special shout-out to our top three Colorado finishers.” 

Colorado’s top three finishers include Grandview High School’s Cyber Wolves, Pine Creek High School’s IT Cyber Eagles, and Lutheran High School’s LHS Cyber Squad.

This year, 276 girls from 28 Colorado high schools participated in the Girls Go CyberStart challenge. Among those participants, 45 Colorado students - nine teams and 10 individual players - were selected to compete in the National Championship. The following high schools were represented:

  • Centennial High School
  • Cherry Creek High School
  • Cheyenne Mountain High School
  • Colorado Academy
  • Durango High School
  • Evergreen High School
  • Grandview High School
  • Highlands Ranch High School
  • Lutheran High School
  • Niwot High School
  • Peak to Peak Charter School
  • Pine Creek High School
  • Stem School Highlands Ranch
