DENVER - Today, Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Deputy Executive Director Julia Richman was recognized as one of the Denver Business Journal’s 2022 Outstanding Women in Business Award honorees, joining an impressive list of the Denver metro area’s top innovators and leaders who are transforming their organizations.
“Julia sees the big picture and effortlessly turns strategy into action,” said Anthony Neal-Graves, OIT Chief Information Officer and Executive Director. “She’s led the way in building a new, modernized remote work culture for our employees while also serving as executive sponsor for the state’s multiyear IT Transformation Program.”
Since arriving at OIT in February 2020, Julia has driven rapid cultural and operational change that has completely reimagined how the office's 1,000 employees work together and serve more than 32,000 state agency employees.
“I am both challenged and fulfilled by what I do every day at the state,” said Richman. “The transformative work we’re taking on has a direct impact on Coloradans’ lives, and it’s made even more rewarding through the collaboration with dedicated public servants. I’m honored to be among so many passionate, brilliant women who are shaping the future.”
Throughout her career, Julia has worked with over 30 states, universities, nonprofits and the federal government on large-scale transformation efforts, including restructuring, cost reduction, business processes improvement, operations improvement, enterprise governance, portfolio management, innovation and organizational design. She is recognized nationally for her expertise which sits at the intersection of technology, innovation and government.
Outside of her work at the state, Julia is passionate about building community, serving as board chair for City of Denver Citizen Oversight Board and as board member for the Colorado Smart Cities Alliance and Colfax Marathon.
This year’s 33 Outstanding Women in Business Award winners will be recognized at a special awards celebration on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
