Each quarter, OIT recognizes employees who are living the values of integrity, teamwork, innovation and service. OIT Stories shine a light on the great work they do to help Coloradans, state agencies, partners, and their teammates.

OIT is leading the state’s efforts to make digital services more inclusive and accessible for Coloradans. Brian Stafford, Accessibility Consultant, is a big reason why Colorado has garnered national recognition.

“Brian's dedication to accessibility consulting within the state is truly exemplary,” says Laurie Kubitz, Sr. Accessibility Consultant. “His work goes beyond simply providing solutions; he meticulously documents the impact of his efforts, demonstrating the immense value that he, and by extension the Technology Accessibility Program (TAP), brings to the state.”

Recognized for his service, Brian helps state agencies prioritize their accessibility work and formulate success strategies through the development of governance and training plans. He elevates standards through continuous improvement and puts users at the center of every decision. He says he’s humbled by the honor.

“It confirms for me that the work I do makes a difference in the lives of the people we serve,” he says. “Nothing brings me more satisfaction than solving a problem, improving an outcome or hitting a target.”
