DENVER - State Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Ray Yepes has been named to Corinium’s 2022 Global Top 100 Leaders in InfoSec report. This second-edition report shines a light on the work innovative security and privacy professionals have achieved over the past 12 months to safeguard their organizations’ people, networks and data.

“Ray’s impressive depth of experience as a cybersecurity professional and executive will pay dividends for the state and all Coloradans,” said Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Chief Information Officer and Executive Director Anthony Neal-Graves. “This recognition affirms what we know about him as a leader and champion for protecting Colorado and its residents’ information.”

In the report, Yepes shared his perspective on how security leaders can be successful: “Security is everyone’s business. To achieve this, you need a cultural change. If you cannot change these ingrained cultures, you won’t be able to get people to understand their responsibility for the organization’s cybersecurity.”

Before joining OIT in April, Yepes served as CISO for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Prior to that work, Yepes co-founded and was the director of a full-service cybersecurity company whose clients included Fortune 500, 200, 100 and 50 companies. He has also served as the CISO for a Fortune 200 company.
