DENVER—The Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) announced a major milestone today: more than 1.5 million Coloradans are now using the state’s myColorado™ app, with around 480,000 accessing their accounts monthly.
Since Gov. Polis announced the historic launch of myColorado and the Colorado Digital ID™ on Oct. 30, 2019, the state’s mobile platform has added valuable functions and features that simplify engaging with the state government. The most popular offerings include the Colorado Digital ID, vehicle registration and eTitle, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Digital Licenses (fishing, small game, and combo fishing/small game), and the Keep Colorado Wild pass to access state parks.
“Through the myColorado app, accessing your Digital ID, hunting and fishing license, low-cost state park pass, and more is easier than ever. 1.5 million Coloradans have joined the app for easy and convenient access to important documents and services, reflecting our state’s commitment to innovation. I look forward to Digital ID being TSA accepted soon, making travel more convenient for all users,” said Governor Polis.
In addition to myColorado’s keystone features, OIT’s GIS Coordination & Development Program team helped improve the app’s map viewer that shows where Colorado Digital ID is accepted. Through a collaboration with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, a “Register to Vote” button was also added to easily access voter registration.
“It’s a longstanding point of emphasis at OIT to ensure that the needs of Coloradans remain front and center in every decision we make, including how we identify the features and functionality in the myColorado app. This achievement is a perfect example of what it means to listen, understand, and implement human-centered thinking into our technology and design systems for Coloradans,” said state Chief Information Officer and OIT Executive Director David Edinger.
The state is committed to making government easy and fully digital, as outlined in the Colorado Digital Government Strategic Plan. The myColorado app will be leveraged to execute this vision and ensure equitable access to digital government services from a mobile device. Residents can expect to see myColorado’s features and functionality grow over the next several years and beyond.
The myColorado app is available via the Apple App Store or Google Play. Visit myColorado.gov (opens in new window) to learn more about myColorado.
